Utilizing a storyline approach to facilitating pupils’ agency in primary school sustainability education context

This article presents a six-week long action research study in two primary school classes, with the aim of exploring how Storyline approach can facilitate learning and acting on sustainability issues, this might enhance pupils’ agency. is underpinned by analyzed through theories relational pedagogy, which communication processes interaction are central aspects process. The empirical material consists video observations from classroom situations. results show teacher’s work highlight importance caring role instruction. Further, suggest that reflective process entails critical thinking has potential to support development democratic capabilities, including civic dimension. adds evidence concerning agency been exercised performed features Storyline.
